Stix Golf Bag and Clubs

Features:

  • Best combination of price and performance
  • 14-piece set
Click To Check Price

There’s a good reason why this is our favorite set. The price for the quality and looks is the best combination in the golf industry. When I tried them out on the course, I got multiple compliments about how futuristic the clubs looked.

Although Stix is a rather new company, established in 2020, they are taking the industry by storm with their promise of “Premium quality at a fair price”. We have personally used these clubs for a few rounds, so far, and can certainly attest to this statement.

The Set Includes:

The full set includes 14 clubs, a Driver, 3-wood, 5-wood, 4 hybrid, 6 irons (5-PW), 3 wedges (52, 56, & 60), and a putter.

When it comes to drivers in beginner golf club sets, you can’t expect it to compete with a $500 driver provided by the big brands in golf. However, Stix nailed it with their driver. Not only does it look great, but it’s 10.5-degree, 460cc titanium head, graphite shaft helped me hit farther and straighter.

The woods have stainless steel heads and graphite shafts. The loft is just right, not too much or too little, to get the ball in the air. I found myself striping these quite straight and far.

As stated above, there is a 4-hybrid. I personally favor a hybrid, compared to a 4 iron, because I have more confidence. The 21 degree loft gets the ball up and quick.

The set of irons include a 5-iron through a pitching wedge. I was surprised by the lightweight and quality of this set compared to other golf clubs for beginners. Whether I was hitting them off of a tee, fairway, or rough, these hit pure.

Lastly, the wedges and putter lived up to the hype. The wedge heads are scratch resistance which is quite nice for those of us that aren’t in the fairway very often. I found myself rolling the ball end over end 90% of the time when putting.

Pros:

  • Lightweight
  • High quality
  • Impressive design
  • Customizable finish

Cons:

  • No bag included

Overall, we couldn’t speak more highly of the quality of this set for the price. Stix provides free shipping on orders over $500, allows a 30-day trial, and easy returns. If you aren’t wanting to commit to the full 14-club set, don’t worry. They also have an 11-club option ($799) and a 9-club option ($599).

Pros:

Callaway Reva Women's Golf Clubs for Beginners

Features:

  • Unique design for women
  • Includes superior driver, woods, hybrids
  • Stroke Lab performance putter
  • 11-piece set and five club covers

REVA, a division of Callaway, is the number 1 brand in women’s golf equipment. This set is a premium sample, and REVA brand designers had women in mind with this package.

The powerful REVA 11-piece set is ideal for all levels, allowing beginners to transition through challenging skill levels. The clubs help build confidence with longer drives, accurate shots, and confident putting.

The Set Includes:

This women’s graphite set includes a driver, 3-wood, 5 and 6 hybrids, 7, 8, 9 irons, pitching and sand wedge, and a putter.

The driver is the star of the show. Our novice golfer achieved fantastic lift and flight on every drive. The sweet spot on the circular face makes hitting the target easier as you follow through on the swing.

We tried and saw an incredible performance in the 3-wood, 5, and 6-hybrid, each engineered to the same caliber as the driver and delivering equal power. The clubs feel solid and balanced and have performance grit and forgiveness. The optimized design makes hitting and launching a ball easier.

The oversized cavity back irons compensate for missed hits, and each swing seemed effortless and controlled.

Sadly, there’s nothing unique or improved on the wedges, but they get the job done with little provocation. The wedges work on basic chip and pitch shots.

One of the great pieces in this set is the putter. REVA designed the innovative Stroke Lab shaft to deliver consistency with each stroke, and it’s truly a remarkable putter.

Pros:

  • Designed with custom shaft length
  • The driver is forgiving
  • Fantastic performance of Stroke Lab putter

Cons:

  • Wedges are mediocre

Overall, this is a fantastic package for women in the beginner or intermediate stage of their golfing experience. The price is a bit steep, but the clubs deliver and will encourage women to hit the links more often.

Tour Edge 370 Bazooka Golf Clubs – Best for Lifetime Warranty

Tour edge 370 bazooka set

Features:

  • The only one with a lifetime warranty
  • Redesigned head shapes and weights
  • Compensating Tour Edge driver
  • An 11-piece set

The Tour Edge Bazooka is a great starter and intermediate set that’s recently undergone revamping to improve the head shapes and weight.

The redesign upgraded these graphite clubs with an ultra-thin face for better lift and speed. We saw an improvement in our distance on almost every shot.

Instead of spending funds on high-brand golfers, Tour Edge puts its resources into delivering high-performance clubs to its consumers. So much so that these clubs come with a lifetime warranty.

The Set Includes:

The Tour Edge driver has a highly developed low CG that forgives those embarrassing off-center swings. What we liked when we tried the driver was that it felt so balanced in our grip. That balance translates into comfort and confidence on the tee-off box.

The driver in this set may have too much whip action for beginners with a mighty swing. As beginners progress, they may need to upgrade.

There’s a smooth 3-wood, a hybrid, seven irons, and a putter to complete the set.

The irons have a cavity back design with a large surface and wide sole to help beginners find their swing and skimming over the turf in a smooth and controlled act.

For the price, these irons stack up nicely against the other brand irons mentioned in this review. It’s easy to see that Bazooka puts its money into designing great clubs for all levels of golfers.

Putts are more manageable with this smooth steel shaft that benefits from a performance alignment at the club’s back end. This design aids beginners in putting softly and efficiently.

Pros:

  • Well thought out set for beginners (unisex)
  • Hybrids help to improve swing????
  • Great for seniors and teens

Cons:

  • The quality could be better
  • The uniflex shaft isn’t what it should be

Overall, this is one of the best starter sets in the affordable category. This set is ideal for someone who’s been toying with the idea of hitting the links.

Precise Golf’s Aspire Pro-X 19-Piece Set – Best Midpoint Price

precise aspire beginner golf set

Features:

  • There is a built-in sweet spot in all clubs for greater forgiveness
  • Three forgiving hybrids
  • Customized regular or tall club lengths
  • Impressive CG and MOI design

Precise Golf isn’t exactly a newbie on the golf scene. They’ve been outfitting golfers of various skill levels for thirty years. This Precise Golf 19-piece set doesn’t scrimp on golf technology. Superior V6 graphite-flex shafts make this package an excellent beginner golf club set.

The Set Includes:

The titanium driver’s design is supposed to provide beginners with the increased head speed they need to get off the ground and make the shot. However, we found that the driver wasn’t as good as we’d hoped when we tested it. Undoubtedly, even beginner golfers need to upgrade this driver to enhance their game.

We were impressed by using the 3-wood and the 5-wood, and the hybrid launched some long drives on the fairway.

The irons in the set outperform the driver. They use the large cavity back that grants beginners the forgiveness they need to play and get their balls into the air.

The pitching and sand wedge perform well on the sand trap and chipping from the long grass. We liked the Tour Pride grip using the putter and all the other clubs.

The CG is where golfers of any skill level need it to develop and maintain consistency and distance. The rifle steel shafts on the irons help improve anyone’s game.

Precise fills their quality bag with one titanium driver, 3, 4, 5-hybrid, seven golf irons, and a putter. But that’s a long way off from 19-pieces. We found that misleading.

Pros:

  • Being able to order according to height
  • The Tour Pride grip is a nice feature and makes you realize how vital grip is to the game
  • Nice bag with extra pockets and great material

Cons:

  • The titanium driver lacks (it’s good but not great)
  • The high bag count comes from counting the head covers
  • The irons scratch easily

Overall we liked this set. The titanium driver has a good feel but doesn’t deliver as well as other drivers for beginners in this review.

FAQs

The overwhelming choices of beginner golf club sets make choosing the right set difficult. We hope we have narrowed that choice for you.

If you’re committed to mastering the game, we suggest purchasing a set with longevity. Advice from professionals is free.

Who makes the best golf clubs for beginners?

A consistent answer to that question lists Callaway, Cobra, TaylorMade, and Wilson as good beginner clubs.

What is forgiveness in golf?

Forgiveness is a common term in golf that means your driver reduces side spin, has a massive sweet spot, and makes hitting the ball easier. Beginners hit off-center tee shots until they improve.

How many clubs does a beginner need?

Most beginners need ten clubs and seldom more. But you’re allowed to carry up to 14. However, if you want to lighten your bag and keep things simple, you can carry less than 14 clubs.

What are the best balls for beginner golfers?

Beginner golfers should, Ideally, start with an affordable and forgiving golf ball.

You’ll be losing many. Look for balls that will give you some distance, have a good feel around the greens, and something that won’t break the bank.

Consider something similar to Wilson Velocity and Volvik Power Soft golf balls (the bright colors are fantastic for beginners).

Conclusion

We chose the TaylorMade set as the best golf clubs for beginners, keeping in mind that our beginner golfer is choosing to progress and commit to the game. Golf may look like an easy game, but it takes years to master.

TaylorMade clubs have that feeling of perfect balance as soon as you hold them in your grip. The novice golfer instantly benefits from that design and builds confidence. Even individuals who show natural talent and progress quickly can grow into the clubs.

That’s why they’re a good investment. Even an intermediate golfer won’t snub these clubs.
