Tomberlin Golf Cart Review: A Good Pick For 2023?

If you are shopping for a new golf cart, it makes sense to look at more than just the EZGo and Club Car models out there. Plenty of other new and smaller companies are up and coming and starting to create quite a buzz in the world of golf: Evolution, and Icon golf carts are two examples.
I recently got the chance to test out a Tomberlin golf cart to see what features it had and whether or not it was a good investment.
Overall I was impressed with what the Tomberlin golf carts had to offer and the features they offered.
Tomberlin Golf Cart Models
As of 2023, there are six main Tomberlin models to choose from. However, they do offer unique special edition golf cart models from time to time.
E-Merge GT
The E-Merge GT golf cart comes in a 2, 4, or 6-passenger configuration. With the E-Merge GT, expect a sportier ride that is slightly higher than a standard golf cart.
There are four colors to choose from, and it comes standard with 15” alloy wheels. One of the things I found most impressive about the E-Merge GT was the fact that it can go from 0-25 in 6 seconds; that’s a pretty fast golf cart!
If you want sporty and fun, this is a good choice.
E-Merge SS
With the E-Merge SS, you can get a golf cart in the 2, 4, 6, and 8-passenger sizes. This is a model that has been in the market for some time, but it gets some improvements through the years.
The SS has four new colors to choose from in 2023, and there are also CoolTouch upholstery choices to really help the cart stand out.
E-Merge Ghosthawk
Tomberlin states that the Ghosthawk is their most popular model. It comes in three different sizes, and there are plenty of color choices and wheel and tire upgrades to choose from.
The LED front bumper makes the cart look a little cooler and rugged all at the same time. With the Ghosthawk, you can also choose optional street radial tires to help make it more street friendly.
If you like military colors or have a military background, there is a special edition Ghosthawk model that Tomberlin makes as well.
E-Merge LE Plus
The E-Merge LE Plus is a bit more about style, comfort, and luxury. This cart has a lot of standard features but also things like a Bluetooth soundbar and 8 color options to choose from. If you like to cruise around the neighborhood, this is a really good model to consider.
I also like this model for golfers. It manages well and handles like a luxury golf cart when you are on the course.
E-Merge Revenge
For the budget-conscious golf cart buyer, the E-Merge Revenge is a great choice to consider. Even though this is considered an entry-level golf cart, there are some impressive features that you won’t find on other entry level carts.
For instance, there are 3 point seat belts, hydraulic brakes, side mirrors with illumination, and a powerful AC drive motor. If you are ready for a new golf cart but don’t want to break the bank, this could be a good option to think about.
Tomberlin Golf Cart Features and Benefits
The Tomberlin golf cart has some great features and benefits. One of the things that stood out to me the most was the number of options they offer with their base-level models.
Most of the time, a base level golf cart comes with hardly anything, and all the fun stuff is extra.
With Tomberlin carts, they have more than 60 years of experience in manufacturing vehicles similar to this, and they know what customers are looking for.
Built For On Road Use
The Tomberlin golf carts are not just standard golf carts with accessories added to make them suitable for the road. Instead, Tomberlin built this cart from the ground up to work well on the roads, just like some models from Star EV golf carts.
They made sure to exceed the LSV safety requirements that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration puts on golf carts. People often forget the dangers of a golf cart on the road; it’s important to invest in safety.
Automotive Features
If you want your golf cart to have many of the same features that you will find in a traditional car, the Tomberlin could be a great choice for you. You will find the Smart Park automatic parking brake to help make parking a breeze.
In addition, there is a locking steering column and a unique ignition key. When I drove the Tomberlin, it felt more like a car than a cart, a unique experience for sure.

The Drive
The Tomberlin features a powerful 450 amp drivetrain. To keep everything in check, as you make your way around the neighborhood, you can see the advanced instrument panel.
Power steering allows you to handle the golf cart with ease. I liked this option for areas where there is quite a bit of turning and maneuvering on the course.
In addition, there is the 4-wheel hydraulic braking system that truly stands out from other golf cart brands.
Style and Look
With these being street legal golf carts, you will want to make sure that you take full advantage of the customization and styling options that Tomberlin offers.
Of course, you may have certain restrictions on golf cart color and tire size if you are playing golf with it, but if not, you will have so many fun and cool options to add.
Range and Speed
One of the downsides of the electric golf cart has always been the range. Unfortunately, electric carts don’t always go as far as gas.
However, with the new Tomberlin models, you will get up to 40 miles of distance with a speed of 25 mph.
If your neighborhood has some ups and downs, the Tomberlin will be able to handle hills. In addition, the acceleration of the cart is considerably better than some others on the market.
Dealer Network
To purchase a Tomberlin golf cart, you will have to work with a local dealer. There are dealers located all over the United States.
Tomberlin is very careful about dealer education. They ensure that the people selling the carts are fully educated and prepared for the sales process.
Lithium Ion Batteries
The Tomberlin golf carts all come with a standard Lithium battery. This is the way most new golf carts are manufactured, and it is a great feature.
With Lithium, you won’t have to worry about maintenance, and instead, you will have a ton of reliability and safety.
Overall, Lithium batteries have a higher upfront cost, but in the end, you will get more longevity and better overall performance.
Tomberlin Golf Carts Pricing
The Tomberlin brand is a bit strict when it comes to pricing. They don’t give much information out, and that has to do with dealers having a little bit of room in their budget to negotiate some pricing.
Pricing on base level carts needs to be determined and worked out at a local dealer, and that is one of the downsides of this brand. We can tell you that there are some Tomberlin carts with all the premium features that will reach $25,000 or more.
However, you have to remember that there are some really impressive features in these golf carts, maybe more than you would ever expect in a vehicle of this kind.

Value
It’s hard to say whether the Tomberlin golf carts are a great deal because they are a bit tight lipped about pricing unless you go into the dealership.
However, one thing to remember here is that the base model Tomberlin will have much more to offer than other similar golf carts.
Customization
When it comes to customization, this is one of the best carts out there. If you like gadgets, top speeds, and bright colors, take a look at what Tomberlin has to offer.
Speed
Speed on these Tomberlin carts is in the 25mph range. However, what is more, impressive is the range. Depending on the size of the cart and how you use it expects 40 to 80 miles on one charge.
